A vortex is a place in nature where the earth is exceptional alive with energy. The term vortex as it pertains to Sedona is where the earth energy swirls like a funnel and draws everything around it to its center. These vortexes are swirling centers of energy coming up from the surface of the earth. You will often find trees with swirled trunks and branches as they bend with these funnels of energy. The vortex energy is not exactly electricity or magnetism, although it does leave a slight measurable residual magnetism in the places where it is strongest, but it acts as an amplifier for the energies in you.

The Native Americans have always considered the Sedona area a sacred spiritual place. It is a place for those who desire to experience spiritual and healing energy. This magnetic energy is about nurturing and opening the heart to promote a stronger connection to one’s emotional side. There are four main energy vortexes in Sedona. The subtle energy that exists at these locations interacts with who a person is inside.

The energy resonates with and strengthens the Inner Being of each person that comes within about a quarter to a half mile of it. This resonance happens because the vortex energy is very similar to the subtle energy operating in the energy centers inside each person. If someone is at all a sensitive person, it is easy to feel the energy at these vortexes, and it can be an uplifting experience. The energy absorbed in this way can have a positive effect for days afterwards. People come from all over the world to experience this.

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a strong intuitive sense. At a very early age, even in the midst of social isolation and severe family dysfunction, I learned to follow my own inner voice. In college, that voice probably saved my life one night when it urged me to scale a high wall to evade a stalker. Before long it also led to mastery in the martial arts, as well as master’s degrees in special education and counseling.

I have to admit I didn’t always listen to my inner voice — for example, when I got into a short but disastrous marriage in spite of inner warnings and protests—but most of the time I did. One bright summer’s day, I found myself confessing to a friend that I felt I should be doing something different with my life. Not that I was unhappy as a schoolteacher, but I knew I had come to a crossroads.

Soon after, I found myself in a meditation class listening to an ascended master telling me that I could heal with my hands. Three weeks later, I healed my mother’s ailing shoulder, and after that there was no turning back. Almost instantly, I embraced a vibrant new life as a healer, visionary, and spiritual teacher.

As I opened to my new life, new information poured in like a rushing stream. Clients lay before me to receive their healings, and I began to “see” the vibrations of their muscles, bones, and sinews. When I opened myself to their messages, their bodies would tell me what steps to take to bring about healing, and in what order, even though I didn’t really understand what I was doing. As long as I stayed open and trusting and out of the way, everything always fell into place.

Ever since then, my life has gone in directions that continue to leave me amazed and delighted. Today, I am a light worker, energy healer, intuitive counselor, and Reiki Master. My goal is to be an open channel for the Divine and to integrate the power of universal love, compassion, and understanding into everything I do.

And what do I do? Haha, you name it! I guide individuals to balance their body, mind, and spirit. I do Reiki, Reconnection therapy, hypnotherapy, and past-life regression. I hold classes and workshops on intuition, meditation, connecting with spirit guides, abundance, manifestation—even accessing other dimensions. I also integrate visions of past, present and future, thereby “seeing” just how and why our present world is morphing into a new one.

With this perspective, I’ve recently guided folks on power journeys to inspiring places such as the pyramids of Egypt, Stonehenge in England, and the ancient Toltec city of Teotihuacan, Mexico. So I do a lot of things and go a lot of places. But whatever I do and wherever I go, it’s always an expression of my unbounded love for life, and this journey to New Zealand is no exception!

You might say that for me, life is a dance. A dance of love and intuition. A dance of courage, openness, and trust. And my own dance continues. I have so much fun playing on this Playground Earth, and I can’t wait to share this playtime with you!
